Iceland Winter Discovery Tour

DestinationU is the ONLY community to focus on and host adventure trips custom created BY women 40 & up FOR women 40 and up! Wendy creates amazing bucket list private trips & events specifically for women over 40 in small groups that are makeup and judgment free, so we are more relaxed, making connections and making more fun memories when trying something new.You can join the Gals ONLY Trip or the Co-Ed Trip for IYN Member to bring along their favorite guy and we'll have an incredible adventure with fabulous memories!

The amazing women in our Inspiring Your Next Community are ageless adventurers over 40 & we prioritize intentional living and seeking out new experiences to keep living life to the fullest. Our events are experiential, active adventure trips and may challenge you a bit. We are NOT a big bus observer “look only” tour but instead we prefer to try and go after all we can while we can.

Wendy is a master at finding and putting together activities that are fun and sometimes challenging but all tailored for us adventure gals over 40.

All you have to do is follow the recommended packing lists and show up! The homework is done for you - all the great sites & activities are brought together in the short trip to get the most out of every destination.

You'll have a specific itinerary and invited to a few group zoom calls to prepare & further customize and tailor our trip to ensure everyone is comfortable and enjoys the experience to the fullest. Maximum of 8 in our group.

We will be staying in the nicest smaller and family run bed and breakfast hotels throughout the southern coast of Iceland, with a more modern city option when we get to Reykjavik. The tour price for the gals trip is based on single occupancy and the co-ed trip is based on double occupancy and includes your own private
room with bed and bathroom. If you have questions or are interested in sharing a room on the gals trip, please inquire about options.

The tour includes all ground transportation while in Iceland, including pickup and drop off at the airport, unless you extend your trip with additional days. Ask how we can arrange additional hotel nights, sights and airport return transportation. We will be in a 4WD van with our private group - no large tour buses.

Price for this tour is $5999 for the Gals ONLY Trip and $5499 for the Co-Ed Trip, with 15% early registration discount through 11/30/2023 (saves $825-900!) The price difference reflects the Gals having private single rooms, and the Co-Ed participants having private double rooms.

Price Includes:

• Accommodations based on single occupancy for the Gals (their own private bed & bathroom) and double occupancy for the Co-Ed (their own private double bed & bathroom)
• All ground transportation
• One group pickup on arrival & drop off for departure at KEF
• Guides and required equipment & safety gear for all listed activities
• All meals for the duration of the tour
• Water for bottle refills (we recommend bringing your empty bottle)
• Group zoom calls to review itinerary and plan
• Packing and prep guide

Price Does NOT Include:

• Airfare to & from KEF Airport (Keflavik - do not fly into Reykjavik)
• Airport transfers outside of designated times or locations
• Alcoholic beverages
• Cost of Traveler's Insurance (highly recommended)
• Cost of hospitalization or evacuation
• Gratuities and items purchased for personal use
• Optional activities or additional nights lodging
  

Please know the itinerary may change. We try to stay with the published schedule and itinerary but unforseen circumstances like weather and environmental changes or factors beyond our control may result in a change. Your safety is our priority and we will make every effort to notify you in advance of any changes and provide the most appropriate alternatives to ensure an enjoyable experience.

The trip is limited to 8 participants and is only open to members of our Inspiring Your Next Community.

This trip requires a minimum number of participants for it to be confirmed. Once the trip reaches the minimum number, you will receive a trip confirmation email and additional information to start your trip planning.

A deposit is due at the time of registration to secure a spot on the trip with exact amounts detailed on the website.

The remaining balance of the full cost of the trip is due by 1/10/2024 (70 days prior to the trip) and not paying the balance due will result in a cancellation of your reservation & loss of some or all monies deposited.

If you cancel for ANY reason other than Extraordinary Circumstances (see additional policy below), you must submit in writing (email to
wendy@destinationu.net) by 11:59pm MST on the following dates to receive __% of the total trip fees:

• Cancel by 11:59pm MST on 01/10/2024, you'll receive a 50% refund of monies paid to DestinationU to date.
• Cancel after 1/10/2024 and by 11:59pm MST on 02/10/2024, you'll receive a 50% refund of monies paid to DestinationU to date.
• Cancel after 11:59pm MST on 02/10/2024, we hope you understand we will be unable to recover the fees for your tour and that you will receive no refund

If you decide to end your trip early after your arrival, we will not be able to secure nor issue you a refund (full or partial) for any used and unused services

Extraordinary Circumstances:

If the package is cancelled by you or us due to extraordinary circumstances, you will pay no cancellation fees, and no extra compensation will be paid. Extraordinary circumstances may include but are not limited to, warfare, acts of terrorism, significant risks to human health such as the outbreak of severe disease at the travel destination, or natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or weather conditions which make it impossible to travel safely to the tour destination.
